Numbers and Counting

Counting forward from any number up to 100. Skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s. Reading and writing numbers to 100.

Using greater than, less than, and equal to for numbers up to 100. Ordering groups of numbers from smallest to largest.

Understanding that a two-digit number is made of tens and ones. For example, 34 = 3 tens and 4 ones.

Adding two numbers with sums up to 20. Using strategies like counting on, making ten, and using doubles.

Subtracting numbers within 20. Understanding subtraction as taking away or finding the difference.

Solving simple addition and subtraction word problems. Understanding key words like altogether, how many more, and how many are left.

Identifying and describing 2D shapes (circles, squares, triangles, rectangles) and 3D shapes (cubes, spheres, cylinders, cones).

Comparing lengths of objects (longer, shorter, taller). Measuring with non-standard units like paper clips or blocks.

Reading clocks to the hour and half hour. Understanding the difference between the hour hand and minute hand.

Sorting objects by color, shape, or size. Reading and creating simple picture graphs and tally charts.
